Dutchiee.TV – Independent Tech Reviews and Tech News

Who am I?

Hi, I am Ricardo, and most people online call me Dutchiee. I test tech, audio gear and cars in real life situations.
I have written more than 170 reviews over the years. Every review comes from hands on use with the product, not from guesswork.
Before I started Dutchiee.TV, I wrote for two large hardware sites in the Netherlands. That period gave me experience and a loyal group of readers who still return.

Want to know more about my story and background? You can read it here.

Brands sometimes send me products to test, but they never control my words. If something feels weak, I say it. If something feels great, I explain why. Many brands reached out over the years, and I think that happened because I stay honest in every review.

I want you to trust what you read here. If you want to see how I test and judge products in detail, my review method is here.

Why tech reviews matter

Tech moves fast, and many people feel lost in all the terms and numbers. A product can look strong on paper yet feel weak at home on your desk.
A clear review helps you see past the marketing talk. It shows what works in daily use and what starts to annoy you after a few days.

Most readers want simple and honest answers. They want to know if something is worth their money and time. I enjoy giving that answer in a fair way.
When a product impresses me, I share that joy and explain why. When a product lets me down, I warn you and show better options where possible.
This way of writing has helped many readers avoid bad buys and regret. Knowing that still feels good every single time.

If you want to read my latest reviews, you can find them here: All reviews.

Bringing you the latest technology and tech news

I follow tech news every day. When a product or story stands out, I cover it in a short, clear post that respects your time.
I pick news items that feel useful for real users. Some stories matter for daily life, some show where the market moves, and some help you decide when to buy or wait.
News posts stay simple and direct. Quick to read, easy to understand and always checked before I publish. You get the key facts without digging through long press notes or random social posts.
When a news item seems important enough, I add that product to my review list. Many news posts later turn into full, in depth reviews once I get the device.

How I test products

I test every product in real life, not just on a table. I use it at home, outside, in the gym, at work or on the road until I know its habits. Real use shows more than any spec sheet, so I test things the same way you would use them at home.

I look at build quality and comfort. I test battery life for gear that needs power. I check sound quality for audio gear and performance for devices that must stay fast.
I pay attention to small details that help or slow you down. Buttons, menus, fit, heat, noise, and other things that reviews often skip. These details decide if a product fits your life.

If you want the full version of my method with extra detail, you can read it here: Review Method.
If you want to browse by product type, you can do that here: Review categories.

Behind the scenes

Here are some photos from my review setup. I take my own shots when I test gear. It shows how I use the products in real life.

I use a small camera setup and lights when I test products. This helps me show how they look and behave in daily use.

How I rate products

I use a simple rating scale from 1 to 5 for every review. A higher score means the product feels strong in daily use. A lower score means clear issues that most users will notice.

When I rate a product, I look at several points:

  • Build quality and comfort over longer use
  • Ease of use and setup for normal users
  • Performance in real tasks, not just tests
  • Price and value compared to rivals
  • Long term use, such as wear and support

A very high score is rare and must be earned. A fair score is always more important than a friendly one. My goal is not to please brands; my goal is to help you pick the right product.

How I compare products

I do not test products in a vacuum. I compare them to the gear I tested before. This helps me see if something feels better, worse or just different. A headphone might sound warm, bright or flat compared to others I used. A laptop might feel faster or slower next to last year’s model.

These small checks help me judge value. Some products ask a high price but offer little. Some feel like a good deal right away. I write down these findings so you can make a clear choice.

My promise to readers

Brands may send products, yet they never tell me what to write or how to rate. I do not change scores for them, and I do not hide weak points.
Every verdict is my own. If something breaks early, feels cheap or sounds bad, I write it. If something feels special, I write that too, and explain why.

I keep this site free from fake praise and hidden deals. You deserve honest reviews, clear language and real testing, every single time.
I keep a small list of gear that stood out during testing. You can find it here: Dutchiee.TV Awards.
I use simple affiliate links on this site. They help keep the site running.
