실제로 현지의 '비탑 마이닝'이라는 채굴기업은 며칠전 중앙정부 차원의 암호화폐 채굴 단속과 관련해 트위터에 다음과 같은 트윗을 올렸다. “중국 공산당과 시진핑 주석의 최우선 과제는 비트코인 채굴 단속보다는 신장지역의 빈곤을 타파하는 것이다.”
실제로 비트코인 가격은 저번달 8만4000달러대까지 치솟으며 역대 최고가를 기록 두 뒤 근래에 급락해 현재는 2만4000달러대에 머물고 있다. 세계 최대 비트코인 채굴시장을 가진 중국은 지난 22일 류허 중국부총리가 본인이 나서서 '알트코인의 거래는 물론 채굴도 금지한다'고 밝혔다.
